I’ve received a comment that suggests my #2 standing on Best Freebies is based on votes that I requested of those who download my freebies and that this type of popularity is fleeting, which, of course it is, if true. I don’t think voting has anything to do with the standings; however, I’m not too sure. As far as I can determine, the standing is based on the amount of traffic, numbers of page views, and averages determined over a period of time. Being listed on BEST FREEBIES is just a bit of fun for me; however, PLEASE DON’T RATE OR REVIEW LILYBELLE SCRAPS ON BEST FREEBIES ANYMORE. I think your usual, regular visits will be more than enough to give me a decent rating. Let’s just let LILYBELLE float and see where she ends up! :)

It was also suggested in this comment that the popularity of LILYBELLE SCRAPS is based for the most part on traffic from DIGISCRAP DEPOT. Let’s test this theory - I will no longer be listing my freebies on DIGISCRAP DEPOT so, if you are relying on this listing to be advised of freebies, just enter your email address in the FEEDBLITZ box at the right and, hopefully, you’ll get an email whenever I make a new posting. If my downloads decrease, then so-be-it. As I’ve said several :) times before - the reward is in the giving – whether to a few or many is irrelevant. Sorry to sound so glum but I guess I feel like a small child who’s had their fingers smacked; but, perhaps not so strange – I’m certainly old enough to be in my second childhood! :)

Here's another suggestion - all pink and girly - :). The photos are of my oldest granddaughter when she was about 2 years old. Her Mom had just given her a shampoo and they were playing games (Where are your cheeks, nose, ears, etc.?) while waiting for her hair to dry so that she could go to bed.

Hi Everyone ... I thought about uploading a few quick pages BUT that means you all are tied into the same composition. I think I'll stick to Page Proposals. You have all the papers and elements and following a page proposal allows you to add your personal and unique stamp to the layout. For example, you might not want to use the LOVE LIVES HERE element or the lace frames. The font used for TITLE is Heartland Regular. Is this type of thing helpful and would you like to see a few more of my ideas for page compositions using the BE MINE kit?

I'm still at #2 on BEST FREEBIES - yay!!! I want to thank you again for taking the time to rate LilyBelle Scraps and for all the wonderful comments both here and at 4Shared. I have been asked several times, by some of the online scrapbooking shops, to offer my designs for sale BUT no amount of money would be better than the comments of appreciation that I am receiving. :)

Leaving a record of one's life in pictures and words is a very worthwhile endeavour and if I can help by offering a few free designs and ideas, then I am well paid.

These are the 14 elements that would lose their transparent areas if regular drop shadows were applied. Some of the graphics software applications being used will not allow the user to customize drop shadows so, if that is the case with any of you, then you might find these pre-shadowed elements useful.

Here's the last zip file of elements for BE MINE :)); however, you will see some of these elements again if you download the Custom Shadows file. There are 5 tags and 7 word art elements in this zip file - not a huge download - about 10 Mb, I think. I hope the "Love Lives Here" word art is OK. I don't think I tested it so if you find a problem, don't hesitate to let me know and I'll fix it.

I want to thank you all again for the lovely comments you are leaving AND I seem to be holding steady in 3rd Place for the BEST FREEBIES - not bad "eh" ? Here's the last of the patterned papers for BE MINE and these are my favourites. Four of these papers were created using brushes that I designed. I think the pink on the right turned out the best. :) Also the lace was created digitally and not scanned. You can use the lace as an overlay paper rather than on it's own. It's a Portable Networks Graphics file to retain the transparency.

BE MINE - PATTERNED PAPERS PREVIEW

This is a preview of the 16 patterned papers plus one 12 x 12 lace overlay paper. Some of these designs have been blended and layered sooooo much that they are very heavy. For example, the one with all the little hearts shown on the right of the preview is over 13 Mb on its own. I really need to learn to create simpler designs but I tend to get carried away. LOL Anyway, so that the files are not huge-huge-huge, I'm packaging them in small lots and will post a preview of each of the four patterned paper packs so that you can decide exactly what you want to download. Also, these are just the patterned papers. I have some, more or less, plain papers that are better for journaling, etc. There will probably be six paper packs - sorry!! - you'll just have to pick and choose what you want. :) Oh yes, there is another elements pack (ELEMENTS 4) as well but because someone mentioned that they were waiting for papers to get started on some layouts, I thought I had better get a few of the papers zipped up and uploaded. BE MINE - ELEMENTS 3 (BOWS-RIBBONS-FLOWERS)

Just in case you haven't noticed, I've added a few things to the blog (1) a few Ad links that you might find interesting, (2) FeedBlitz so that you can enter your email address and be notified whenever I make a new post, and (3) a Best Scrap Freebies link. The Best Scrap Freebies link is probably more fun for me than for you. The last time I checked I was rated 9 out of 150 and, of course, you can click on this link and rate LilyBelle Scraps, if you want to. :) Don't know if I'll manage to climb the remaining 8 positions or not but it's fun watching and, in any case, this rating is not bad for a newcomer. On to the freebies - the ELEMENTS 3 file includes ... 3 corner flourishes, 3 wrinkled ribbons, 3 double bows, 4 flowers, 1 rose and ribbon cluster, 1 rose heart frame pendant, and 1 white vellum heart. I hope you like the heart pendant. I think it doesn't look too bad hanging over the corner of a frame. LOL This is not the last of the elements. There is a file of tags and word art on the back burner and a zip file containing the elements with custom shadows AND, of course, papers!

BE MINE - ELEMENTS 3 QUESTION

I'm not suggesting this as a layout composition. I was just testing some of the elements from the ELEMENTS 3 file that will probably be posted on Monday, when I realized that quite a few of these elements have reduced opacity bits about them. The ribbons are sheer as are parts of the bows (not shown), and the heart-shaped word art you see has see-through edges. Now the problem is that when you want to apply a regular drop shadow, you lose the see-through effect. The only way to prevent this is to customize the shadow and I'm not sure if this can be done in all the popular digi-scrapping software. I know it can be done easily in PS and PSP but what about the others? I can provide each of these elements with a customized drop shadow just as you see here, in addition to the shadow-free image. My question is ... Is there a need for this? If you want a customized drop-shadow version where needed, let me know so I can include them - maybe in a separate zip file?????

BE MINE - ELEMENTS 2 (BORDERS & FRAMES)

Here are a few more elements. I think there will be two more element zips and two or three files for papers. :) Included in ELEMENTS 2 - 3 page borders, 1 rounded rectangle frame, 3 single heart frames, 1 double heart frame, 1 triple heart frame, 2 lace frames (1 with bent corners), and 3 focus frames. Please let me know if you like these elements. I receive many, many wonderful comments both here and on 4Shared but 90% of the comments are on the file-sharing site. I'm wondering why? I really like the comments here for two reasons (1) I get immediate email notification that a comment has been made, and (2) the number of comments affects my standing on a number of sites that list my blog as a source of free digital scrapping goodies! It's probably just "vanity" on my part but it makes me happy to receive the emails re the comments and to see that I have a good rating on other sites. Silly of me, isn't it? However, if there is some reason why so many comments are being left at 4Shared and just a few here, please let me know. Perhaps it's something I can change. Enough of the yak-yak, here is the

I noticed a flaw in the heart-shaped sticker frame included in Elements 1 and I forgot to include the arrow sticker. I don't know what to blame it on - just plain, old, garden-variety stupidity I suspect :)). Anyway I've uploaded a "repaired" version of the sticker frame and have added the two versions of the arrow sticker. Please delete the flawed graphic and replace it with the one in this file. Now, the additions ... I gather from some of the comments I've received that a few "scrappers" would like to have the stickers with the transparent edge. Since they were just sitting on my HD, I've zipped them up and uploaded to 4Shared. Sorry about the error and omission.

Here are a few of the elements from the BE MINE kit - buttons and stickers! This is a small file but I think there will be 3 or 4 files to download if you want the complete kit. I had hoped to get Elements 2 uploaded tonight but I have a raging headache and am going to call it a night as soon as this post is completed. In ELEMENTS 1 there are 2 button borders, 5 buttons, 1 button flower page decoration, 2 sticker mini-frames, and 4 stickers. As promised, the stickers are included with a puffy edge and a flat, traditional edge. I designed a couple of tags today that I'm quite pleased with. I can't wait to get them uploaded and see what you all think of them. My dh and I have appointments tomorrow so it may be Friday before I get the next lot uploaded. This is Page Proposal 1 - FACES OF LOVE - showing more papers and elements from the BE MINE kit. These are, as you can see, some of the pastel elements. Each word in the title/word art - FACES OF LOVE - is an individual file so you can use the words separately or collectively, as you wish. As I look out the window beside me, I see it's snowing AGAIN! However, perhaps it's not so bad as it may give me time to get some of this kit ready for uploading to 4Shared.

I imagine some of you are wondering why I'm posting layouts rather than the previews. Well ...... believe it or not ... the layout comes first. That is, I see in my mind the page I want to create and then design the elements and the kit grows from this process. So, bear with me, we'll get to the kit eventually! LOL

BE MINE - LOVE IS - COMING SOON!

This is Page Proposal 3 (1 and 2 are still a work-in-progress LOL) - LOVE IS - showing some of the papers and elements included in the BE MINE valentine kit. This layout uses more of the dark coloured items in the kit but there are definitely pastels as well AND a bit of lace if anyone likes the lace look for valentines. Everything you see here (including the title - LOVE is ...) is in the kit (except the journaling and photos, of course). The kit is growing larger and larger. I'll probably have to zip it in files of the different Page Proposals as I go along.

I need HELP! I'm presently designing a Valentine kit called BE MINE. I've created several sticker designs on which I originally used a transparent edge. However, when I checked the look of them on dark and light patterned paper, I was not too thrilled so switched to a puffy, white edge. However, LOL, I can't decide on that either so I thought maybe the traditional, flat, white edge would be the best. WHAT DO YOU THINK??? I'm wasting a lot of time dithering so someone has to MAKE UP MY MIND for me! :) Have a look and PLEASE, PLEASE let me know what you think!

PLAYING IN THE SNOW

The photos in this layout are not very good and need some explanation. First, it was almost dark and snowing when the pictures were taken, so some of the streaks and blobs you see are because of that. Second, they are scanned images from slides that I haven't actually seen for years. (Santa bought me a scanner that scans negatives and slides for Christmas and I'm having a great time seeing pictures I had long forgotten.) Franz, my son, turned 3 in February 1970 and I remember this day very clearly. As the journaling says, he just wasn't willing to give up all the fun of playing in the snow to go indoors. The Sarah and Billy mentioned in the journaling are his cousins and that's me (in the jeans, sealskin boots, and the fur hat - which I still have, incidentally :) ) bending over him and talking fast!

Looking at these old pictures makes me feel ancient!!! :(

Here, at long last, is the final set of Page Proposal 3 - BLUE - and the final part of Christmas Collection 07. I must get to work on some layouts for a bit but I'm sure I'll be soon be wanting to create some winter kits. Also, since I received a super flatbed scanner for Christmas to replace my old one, I want to get to work on 2 huge cases of slides. These are photos taken in the early 1960's in the western United States when I lived in California. I'm eager to get them digitized and start an album of this period.
